Not one to rest on my laurels for long, I am now off on my next adventure, a StarTalk Chinese teacher's workshop in Upstate NY at Hamilton College for 2 weeks. The participants, (we are now officially students again) all consider Chinese as a non-native language and have pledged to only speak Chinese for the duration of our workshop, including our discussions of pedagogy--lots of new and technical words! More about the workshop in my next blog entry!
Late last week,I received official confirmation that I had indeed passed both of my recent exams, both the subject test as well as my Professional Education exam! Now it's just a matter of waiting for the college to submit my materials to the Dept of Ed in Tallahassee and then applying for my professional certificate online. After that, I will graduate from merely being 'certifiable' to being 'certificated'. Seriously, that is an official term used by the State of FL.

Shanice: CONGRATULATIONS on passing the FTCE Business exam! I'm so happy for you! I know that was the exam I was most worried about! I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to get back to you and now realize that you will be taking the FTCE Professional exam next week! (I was going to be taking my FTCE K-6 Subject test next week--but pushed it back a month because I just haven't had enough time to prepare for it. At least it's pretty easy to reschedule, as long as they have the slots available).
