Yesterday afternoon, however, I saw her out in the hall with her class sitting quietly against the wall outside the computer room. It turns out that they were going to go to computer class (technology) but their teacher wasn't there. I went to check on that for her, and it turned out that their teacher had gone home sick. I came back upstairs, let her know that their teacher had gone home sick so there would be no technology class today...but then told her to go ahead and bring her students back into her classroom so that they could have a Chinese class instead! With my trusty iPad and dongle (connector to the projector), I was able to do the make-up class that I wasn't able to schedule earlier. The class behaved beautifully, and listened attentively to the Zodiac Animals story on my iPad. It worked out better than if I had planned it! Truly, timing is everything!
This has been an incredibly busy week so far...without signs of getting easier. It's just crazy right now with rehearsals for concerts (Lower School Winter Concert was last night), presentations (First Grade is doing Flat Stanley tonight), and Friday is a half day with holiday parties in all the classrooms. There's just no extra time to fit anything in. That's why when i asked the second grade teacher if there was a way we could make up a class that would be missed on Friday--she said that she really couldn't.
